GOOD onshore staff in DEMAND more than ever.
It makes sense for onshore companies to outsource when the potential for gross savings is so spectacular. Figures of up to 50% savings have been cited. These savings are gross but even when add in the "cost of outsourcing" net savings of around10% to 15% are routinely arrived at.
Outsourcing carries with it a clear and definite risk that is not easily definable going in and could lead to endangering the entire business. There are enough horror stories to support that so I don't want to go into that here. What I do want to mention is how the risk is somewhat minimised by having a small but highly effective team onshore to cover it. This has become an accepted cost of doing outsourcing. It makes the savings less exciting but insures against putting the entire business under threat.
It is in this area that good onshore staff are worth their weight in gold.
Could you be the kind of person that a career in outsourcing would best suit?
